For my opening scene, I am deciding to start with action instead of a reflection of a character. This is because I want to ignite a spark in my audience. By doing this, they will be hooked onto the story and feel anticipation. The more suspense that they feel, the more interested they will be. Not only does this affect their understanding of what my movie would be about but it causes them to have expectations and predictions that they can inform their peers with. This helps me gain more popularity.Action in an opening scene helps introduce characters. This is how the doppleganger in my film will be presented. It drives the story's plot. Not only this but it makes a pathway for other events to happen. As Charlotte, the protagonist of my story runs away from the alternate, my audience will feel an abundance of suspense. This impacts the story by giving my viewers some context.
Reflection in an opening scene is usually based off of a character. This character may be reflected off of the items, people or location surrounding them. The purpose of this is to explain the character's start to a new journey or how they develop. In this type of opening scene, the mood that is given can be a sense of melancholy or confusion. This is because a producer wants to show how a character is looking for a deeper truth or meaning.
