Post #49 Creating A Specific Font
For my film, I needed a font that correctly displayed the meaning behind my film. This means it has to present an uneasy sense. However, I did not want to use a scratchy or dripping font because there is no scratching or blood in my opening scene.
To achieve this, I utilized an app called Picsart. This app is used for editing photos. I then used the drawing feature on a blank background and a stylist to draw a slightly scratched font.Additionally I exported the photo and inserted it into my film. With this, my credits would have the slightly scratchy and unsettling font that I desired. Although the font turned out grey when the original color was white, I found that this added another spooky feel to my opening credits.
Moreover, the app, VN video editor had other fonts I could have used. The reason I did not use these is because I felt that they did not present the correct horror theme. For example, these fonts were either too modern or too old.I also decided to use a larger size of the marker in Picsart to accentuate the importance of the film crew. Doing this is important because I want my audience to acknowledge who and what allowed my film to happen. Furthermore, it creates a more sophisticated look for my film.
