Kryscelle: Hey, I'm Kryscelle Capistrano, and this is my talking head CCR. Today, I'll be answering ccr question #3. How did my production skills develop throughout my project? Well, I'll begin with how I learned to create transitions. I don't mean with the editing feature..-ish. I wanted my transitions to be as smooth as possible. This means it cant look like one shot immediately cut to another like regular cinematography. So, it must look like one shot matches up with the next. For example, a transition i edited in my film was when Charlotte met her alternate for the first time. To do this, I had my mom spin the camera as she turned quickly. What this movement did was create a blur. The reason needed to do this was because both odors for charlotte and her doppleganger were me, and I cant be in one shot in separate places! My idea was that my mom would spin to the right from charlottes side profile to the doppleganger across from her. To achieve this, I filmed on a separate day where I was in my costume for the alternate. I had my mom do the same spin moment from the same place in the forest. This created another blur. With the second blur from the second shot, I was able to put together the two shots. This was my transition! However, it still looked a little choppy, so l decided to see how it would look with an edited transition feature provided by the app. This fixed the issue, and I was able to control how long the feature stayed for. But that's enough about transitions. moving forward, my directing skills have also developed positively. I have found out that my directing skills depend on the person that I am guiding. For instance, in one of my previous blogs about challenges, I spoke about how well my parents cooperated. First, I started with my dud. He did not show exemplary skills. Let me explain, when I filmed with him, he would complain about wanting to go home and did not film me correctly during this scene, when charlotte was walking mochi, he repeatedly stayed in place with the camera instead of following me like I asked. This is when I began to question if the problem was my communication skills. To fix this, I asked my mom to help me. With her, she understood what I was trying to do and was even more willing to do it. Although it may be true that I needed to hire another cinematographer, the real issue was that I explained what to do differently to them. Next, Ill talk about exhibition. Just because teens and young adults are on social media the most, I can still reach other audiences by putting my film in theaters. I want my film to stick out to new movie lovers, so, if I were to create preview, I would add many conventions from the analog horror genre. These can span from glitches on the cover, dead eyes, a location like the forest at night, and more. These conventions are important because it displays that my film is horror themed which will reach even more viewers. Moving on, l have gotten so much better at editing. Many glitches can be seen in my film. I thought adding them would greatly improve the "analog horror" aspect. am forever grateful that I added them. Lets talk about how I did-. Неy- Hey! Are you listening? I said I added them with the editing feature on the app. the hard part was figuring out how to time it. It took me about 30 min-. Hey guys! today Ill be talking about how my editing production skills have developed! I learned how to extract audio and move it into the scenes that used an extra background noise, like in this scene. timing the glitches wasn't a very fun time though. It took me about 30 minutes to- What? What do you mean I already talked about this?? I Just started my -
