Post #50 Achieving the highway shot
Starting with the importance of this shot, I wanted to include this to establish the broader side of Charlotte's location. It tells my audience that Charlotte is near a public area. Furthermore, it creates a sense of realism.
To do this, I set up a short phone-stand on the sidewalk near my neighborhood. Originally, I wanted the angle to be high so that I got a good look of the road. This would show a better establishing shot because it represents how public the area is.
Although, because I was not able to get a shot like this, I improvised and used a low angle shot. This displayed an anticipative feeling. I used this shot to enhance the sound as the angle could not focus directly on the cars passing by.
For the sound, I decided to make it get louder when the shot was coming to an end. This is because I wanted to add a suspenseful feeling as if it were acting as a sting. This will keep my viewers hooked because the next shot went silent with minimal noises.
Lastly, this shot took multiple tries. This is because I had a hard time deciding on how to film the angle along with what I could do to fix it. The camera stand was also broken on one leg so I had to hold it as I recorded.
